Re: Andy Carroll working hard to get back to full fitness in....
I get the feeling the board like Sakho from the comments made in the past by Gold and Sullivan however whether Bilic does is another thing entirely. I think if Sakho is really fit and his head is right he can be a big asset and positive impact on how we play. Shows a lot of effort and passion on the pitch.
If he gets moody about not starting every game and doesn't understand the notion of being part of a team then you have to get rid.

As for Andy, always thought he was a great tactical option but not a regular starter or plan A. We play too much hoofball when he is out there. Feel his career is slipping away by the year. Bilic seems to talk him up and Sullivan seems to have lost patience

correct on the contracts. sakho has this season to impress, but to be honest based on his previous attitude i highly doubt he will get a new deal even if he does manage to stay fit all season.

Pretty sure AC has two years left and Sakho just the one.

The fact that we have heard nothing at all about them trying to extend Sakhos deal tells you everything.

He's a wrong un, they want rid and he'll get two or three run outs as a sub and then bombed out before the end of the window.

I think both of them will be offered around right up until deadline day.

I can see either Pulis, a high level championship club or a newly promoted club biting. Even on loan in Carroll's case. Sakho is last year isn't he?

If we keep one, presuming we get Gray, then they should presumably be third choice forward.

In my head, It might mean the difference of us taking a punt on someone like Wilshere - minimising the amount of injury prone players in the squad.

based on nothing other than my own thoughts i reckon Carroll has the hump he's no longer first choice now the little peanut has signed.

loan deal to newcastle rushed through on deadline day.

With Sakho then limping off on 88 minutes and us having to play out the remainder with ten men?

If we have Sakho ready to go to come in to replace Hernandez that's superb.

Imagine the little man getting a couple of goals and running himself into the ground and then on 75 minutes we bring on a fit and raring Sakho to run the line and hold the ball up.

I'm liking that.

Good news. Diafra Sakho should start training with the first team squad in the next day or so. Good luck Diafra. dg

Antonio took a physio on his stag weekend. Carroll had a lap dancer on his pre season fitness break...

It will also be interesting to see how Lewin handles him. Perhaps our previous physio set up gave him too much leeway.

"because he was by far and away our best striker for most of his time here"

Indeed. But no longer the case. So it will be interesting to see if Carroll reacts positively or negatively to that.

i don't think we have ever played him BECAUSE he cost so much money, he was played when fit (or when we thought he was fit enough) because he was by far and away our best striker for most of his time here.

Re: Andy Carroll working hard to get back to full fitness in....
I realise that being more expensive doesn't make them better but the point is that we are no longer obliged to play him just because we invested so much money in him. We invested more in other players so hopefully they will be given the same changes that Carroll has received in his time.

Fuck sake....

“Andy is still not able to train with the team but he is working hard at Rush Green with the physios.
“I am frustrated he cannot play, now he is still injured and it is a big loss for us.”

Re: Andy Carroll working hard to get back to full fitness in....
The good news for us is that we now have 3 strikers / forwards who are more expensive than Andy Carroll.

Hernandez, Arnautovic and Ayew should all be ahead of him although I appreciate they aren't all out-and-out strikers.

But it's a big positive that he's not the main man at the club any more and when he is fit he will not, or should not, walk straight back into the team like he has before. Only to get injured again.

We have options, and fortunately for us this season he is now one of the options and not first choice.

Hopefully though, we'll just cut out losses and he won't even be back-up for us.

Fair point mate.

But I think Sven's post is very apt.

"I like the fact that in signing Hart, Hernandez & Zabaleta we have signed 3 players who have each won the League twice ... winners. Something we lack around the club.
The next step is getting rid of unprofessional pisstakers like Carroll. These sort of players around the club infect any chance of developing a professional attitude and moving forward."

I think we all agree on that.

Re: Andy Carroll working hard to get back to full fitness in....
He was injured before we bought him.
Last minute of the last game of the season he was on loan v Reading. That is the West Ham way.
He jumped and fucked his Achilles / ankle.
We still signed him as we didn't realise how bad that injury was.
